What is slavery?

When a person is the legal property of another (usually regarded as the 'master') and is forced to obey them, it is called slavery. Normally it is a person who works very hard without appreciation or pay. Occasionally, the treatment of such slaves is very poor and it leaves many unfortunate and innocent people scarred for life. Although many people in the modern world are under the impression that slavery no longer exists, this is an incorrect outlook. Despite the fact that it is concealed quite well in some areas, slavery is still present in the world, even in the United States.
